Golden milk, also called turmeric milk is a delicious, colorful and nourishing treat. Turmeric has an active ingredient (curcumin), which is a great anti-inflammatory agent. Curcumin is not easily absorbed by the body, but when combined with black pepper, its absorption greatly increases, so please don’t forget to add it. Drinking this warm drink in winter will help keep you healthier in the winter. Cheers!

 

Ingredients


•     2 cups soy or almond milk
•     1 teaspoon honey or Stevia
•     1 teaspoon ground turmeric

 •     1 cinnamon stick or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
•     Small pinch of black pepper
•     Pinch of grated ginger (fresh is best)
 

Directions


1- Pour all ingredients into a small pan and bring to a light boil. Whisk well to combine all ingredients. Then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes, the longer it will simmer the stronger the flavors will be.

 

2- Strain the milk if you have large pieces of ginger, cinnamon or peppercorns.

 

3- Serve warm with a dash of cinnamon if you wish.
