Broccoli’s Benefits for the Brain

You may have already been told to eat broccoli for good health, well it turns out that it is true, in addition to the many benefits to our whole body, broccoli provides three crucial nutrients that improve brain function: vitamin K, choline and folic acid. Vitamin K helps to strengthen cognitive abilities, while choline improves memory; therefore, people who eat plenty of broccoli perform tend to do better on memory tests. Finally, broccoli also offers a generous serving of folic acid, which can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, studies suggest that a lack of folic acid could lead to depression, so eating plenty of broccoli could also contribute to be on a happier mood.

In conclusion, adding broccoli to soups, salads and even smoothies could decrease the need to have to take medicine for brain health in the future. Remember, prevention is always cheaper and tastier than the cure. Ready to add broccoli to your meals this week?
