Oats are grains packed with nutritional benefits, which contribute to improve one’s mood. Some of the nutrients oats have include:  B vitamins, magnesium, potassium, fiber, and they even contain protein. Therefore, oats have been found to be one of the best foods that can help one to reduce anxiety, prevent depression, and maintain cognitive function.

 

Oatmeal has also the advantage that can be eaten for any meal or snack,  prepared in any way one can imagine, such as  cooked, soaked overnight, mixed into a bread or cookies, or even added raw to smoothies. If sensitive to gluten, it is important to buy certified gluten-free sources.

Take-Home Message: Oats are a way to add nutrients that promote healthful function of one’s organs, including the brain. Additionally, they are cheap can be added to most meals and snacks.
