As reported by McClellan (2013), a 2010 study published in The Journal of Nutrition indicated that 97 percent of Americans eat snacks. Americans get nearly 25% of their daily calories from snacks. It turns out that those who snack most, also tend to make healthier choices. Most Americans are deficient in potassium, dietary fiber, calcium and vitamin D, which are key nutrients.
